Press Release #55/May 10, 2022
Salina Elementary and Salina Intermediate schools are inviting local residents to a community meeting to talk about Green Schoolyards.
The Green Schoolyards program is a joint initiative of the City of Dearborn, ACCESS and Dearborn Public Schools. At the meeting, the district and the Salina community will present their vision for the Green Schoolyard plan and gather community input and suggestions.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 18th, from 6 to 7 p.m. inside Salina Elementary School. Please enter through the front door and proceed to the second floor media center.
Green Schoolyard programs are a deliberate effort to include more landscaping and natural habitats in and around schools, including the play areas. Studies have shown a correlation between green spaces in schools and communities and student well being and academic achievement.
