Dearborn High School will host a free COVID vaccine clinic on Friday, Oct. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Wayne County Health Department will be on hand administering Pfizer vaccines to students, staff and community members in the school cafeteria. Please enter from the south side of the building, facing the football field.
The clinic is for anyone 12 years or older who is not yet vaccinated or those who received their second Pfizer vaccine more than six months ago and are now among the groups eligible for a booster shot. School district staff are included in those eligible for a booster shot.
Pre-registration is requested, but not required, for the clinic. Pre-registering will help ensure enough vaccines are available for all who plan to attend. Dearborn High students who pre-register can be excused from fifth and sixth hours that day to get vaccinated.
The Pfizer vaccine can be given to anyone age 12 or older. Anyone younger than 18 must have a signed permission form from a parent or guardian. Parents can sign the form on-site, if they are attending with their child, or can print and sign the form and send it with their child to the clinic.
“Since COVID vaccines became available first to district staff and then to students, we have strongly encouraged everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated against this virus,” said Dearborn Schools Superintendent Glenn Maleyko. “This clinic is another way to try to keep our school community as safe as we can during a pandemic and to lessen as much as possible the damage COVID is causing to the people in our community and to the learning opportunities for our students.
