Dear Glenn

Congratulations – a  school in your district has been named a Bridge Magazine Academic State Champ!

Please visit Bridgemi.com for the full story:

Bridge Magazine’s 2019 Academic State Champs honors high schools with the highest percentage of graduates enrolled in two-year or four-year colleges. Bridge chose the methodology this year because college enrollment is increasingly a focus of legislative and philanthropic efforts.

To determine the rankings, Bridge calculated an average of three years’ of data, from graduating classes of 2016, 2017, 2018. Schools were divided into four economic groupings because numerous studies have found that family income is a predictor of academic success. Schools were grouped based on how many students receive subsidized lunch or other assistance.

There were four groupings: Schools where fewer than 25 percent were disadvantaged, from 25 to 40 percent, 40 to 55 percent and more than 55 percent.

Again, congratulations. We here at Bridge Magazine and The Center for Michigan believe education is the key to restoring prosperity to Michigan, and we are thrilled to recognize your district for its academic achievements.

Kind regards,

Joel Kurth
