Potential School Closure based on cold temperatures guideline:
We will not consider school cancellation for low temperatures until the temperatures get between -19 to -25 below zero with the windchill factor included. Parents can always choose to make their own choices and do what they feel is in the best interest of their child(ren). Listed below is a chart that explains how the windchill factor can cause frostbite when it approaches cold temperatures.

Cancellation of Recess at the Elementary Level.
We have guidelines on the cancellation of recess that provide flexibility for principals based on specific local school conditions. We will cancel recess when temperatures are below 20 degrees. Again, this is a guideline and principals may exhibit discretionary decision making on potential recess cancellation.
