I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Dearborn Police for their quick response on February 6th regarding a shell casing found at Dearborn High. They worked collaboratively and in partnership with the Dearborn Public Schools staff including Principal Jebril, Ms. Elzayat and many others in order to ensure student safety. Fortunately, there was no threat to the safety of the staff and students at the school. However, it’s vitally important that any potential situation is taken with the utmost seriousness. We will always err on the side of caution in order to protect the well being of students, staff and the school community.
I would also like to thank Mayor Hammoud and Dearborn Police Chief Shahin for their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all Dearborn residents. Our partnership ensures our students have a safe school environment.
