Administrative Assignments. 2018-19 #students1stDbnSchs

I am pleased to announce the following administrative assignments that will be effective July 1, 2018. All of the new assignments are being made after thoughtful deliberation by the Executive Cabinet regarding how to best support our outstanding staff and community as they provide a high quality education for the benefit of our students.

Dr. Jill Chochol as the Executive Director of Student Achievement (the Edsel Ford Feeder Track) which includes the following additional responsibilities: Curriculum, Special Education, Early Childhood, Media & Technology, Instructional Services/Early Childhood Specialists/Instructional Coaches.

Ms. Shannon Peterson as the Executive Director of Student Achievement (the Fordson Feeder Track) which includes the following additional responsibilities: MBCC, Henry Ford College/Early College/Collegiate Academy/dual enrollment, Compensatory Education and English Learners, Instructional Coaches/Counseling/Graduation Specialists.

Dr. Youssef Mosallam to a new position as the Executive Director of Community Partnerships, Career and College Readiness Achievement which includes the following responsibilities: Adult Education, Grant Writing, Students Services/Athletic Support to the Director,  University Partnerships & Achievement, Career and College Readiness (CCR) articulation agreements to provide pathways to demonstrate CCR, and Skilled Trades/Apprenticeship Programs.

We have a vacancy for the Executive Director of Student Achievement (for the Dearborn High Feeder Track position) which includes the following additional responsibilities: School Improvement and Leadership Coaching, Assessment Research and Evaluation, Dearborn Teacher University/Middle School Instructional Coaches/Coordinators/ Strategic Plan. This position will be posted soon and is open to applicants both internal and external candidates.  

In addition, the Director of Communications David Mustonen, who reports directly to me, will become part of the Executive Cabinet team with weekly meetings and other responsibilities.  

Ms. Rima Hassan was appointed as the Woodworth principal last Monday which opens up the Becker Principal position. Congratulations to Ms. Hassan.  We also have a vacancy due to the retirement of Sue Noland with the Smith Assistant Principal (AP) position and may have another AP vacancy pending who receives the Becker Principal position.  Please make note that DuVall Elementary will now join the Edsel Ford Feeder Track since all students from DuVall now attend Edsel Ford.

I also want to congratulate all of the administrative interns for the 2018-19 school year.  Their assignments are listed below:

First Semester

Dawn Frizzell, from HFEC, will be interning at Howe and working with SE Coordinators at O.L. Smith. Hanaa Faraj, from Geer Park, will be interning at Fordson and Bryant.Bob Harrison, district media teacher, will be interning at William Ford and Bryant.   

Second Semester – Locations to be determined.

Mary Timpf, from Geer Park, will be a winter semester admin intern in a to be determined location.Jill Marvaso, from Snow Elementary, will be a winter semester admin intern in a to be determined location.

The District is very fortunate to have many outstanding and professional administrators that are being assigned to these positions in the best interest of Dearborn students. I wish everyone all the best as they assume new roles in the district to support the implementation of our strategic plan. Students First: Inspire, Educate, Celebrate.
