This is a huge accomplishment. Only 13 were given out across the state and 342 throughout the nation. This is the first time in the history of Dearborn Public Schools that one of our schools received this highly sought after and distinguished national award.
I want to Congratulate the Principal Rima Hassan, the Faculty (teachers and non-instructional staff), PTA, parents, students, community members, the Board of Education, and our school district administrators. I am extremely proud of the job that the Becker team and the Dearborn Public Schools team did as a school community with providing such a high quality of instruction in order to receive this national recognition. This is an awesome accomplishment and the recognition that Becker received for going above and beyond the call of duty to support our students and their best interest is truly admirable. This is an enormous honor for our school community at Becker and for Dearborn Public Schools. We will plan to invite the school community to an upcoming board meeting to celebrate this national recognition. I plan to attend the Blue Ribbon acceptance ceremony in Washington D.C. in November with Principal Hassan and another Faculty member.
Parents and families are important partners in the education of our students and this recognition is an outstanding example of that partnership and the great work that is done at Becker and with families across our school district. This is a celebration of the success at Becker and it is also an example of the great team work that is done across the school district with all of our schools serving 21,000 students.
