1.The interactions that I have with staff, parents, and especially students at the school level an extremely important part of my job. I really value and love the time that I spend in our schools interacting with students. My school visits are now at 364 for the year. The purpose of the visits include but are not limited to supporting instruction, school improvement visits, walkthroughs, ceremonies, special events and interacting with students. Listed below are some of the events and visits since the end of May. My previous record for school visits in one day was seven but on May 26 I made 10 school visits which is my new high for one day. On that day I attended a Memorial Day ceremony, a city beautiful parade, a city beautiful ceremony, a visit with a principal, walk through observations of co-teaching lessons at 2 separate schools, attendance at a PTA event, and a community event at a school. 2. The DFT, Chris Sipperley and Jane Mazza have been busy training teachers at Long and Oakman to prepare them to pilot the DFT led Parent Teacher Home Visit Model (PTHVM).
3. The Dearborn Education Foundation Green Tie Dinner on May 25. Congratulations to Scholarship Award Winners, and Dearborn Schools Employee Impact Award Winners.
4. The ACCESS 21st Century Grant Celebration with Students on May 25. Anisa Sahoubah is in charge of the Grant that has been around since 2003. The Grant started at Salina and Lowrey going back to my years as the Salina School Principal well over a decade ago.
5. Memorial Day Ceremonies at Fordson and Edsel Ford on May 25 and May 26 with students, teachers, school administrators the Mayor, Judge Hultgren, Sean Green, Board President Lane, Trustee McDonald, Trustee/Treasurer Petlichkoff, and Trustee McDonald.

6. Marching with Students at the Maples Clean-up Parade on May 25. In attendance were Trustee Petlichkoff and other City officials and Administrators. Council President Dabaja was the Guest of Honor.

9. Trustee McDonald and I attended the MASB legislative Meeting in Lansing. We received Training on Current issues and then went to the capitol to dialogue with Legislators regarding school budgets and other important educational topics. Pictures are with Representatives Plawecki, Santana, Darany, and Senators Knezek and Hood. BTW, I am getting a little better at taking selfies (lol).

10. The AAYSP mentor program at Edsel Ford. Some of the adult mentors were my former students at Salina many years ago.
11. The Leader in Me Leadership Conference at Lindbergh Elementary on June 2. It is an impressive model and part of the school culture. Snow and Whitmore Bolles are also implementing the model.
12. Congratulations to Nada Fouani on her retirement and thank you for your service supporting Dearborn Students.
13. I attended Mariam Jalloul’s Graduation Party. Congratulations to Mariam on her Graduation from Harvard University along with her Commencement Speech.
14. This was a night to honor President Merrit from the Dearborn Rotary and to Award Darlene Schoolmaster with the Rotarian of the Year Award.

17. The DFT Retirement Party at Park Place. Congratulations to all of the retirees and thank you for your years of service supporting Dearborn Students.
18. My son Justin and I attended the Summer Slam Tournament in the Salina Community and Relay For Life on Saturday June 4. There were many students at faculty at Relay for Life supporting Cancer Research and Treatment. I hit the Target in the dunk tank but it didn’t work. Oh well, it was for a good cause.
19. Lock it or Lose it Press Conference with Chief Haddad. Tom Wall and Don Ball Attended on my behalf.
20. Senior Honors Assemblies at Fordson and Edsel Ford on June 8 and 9 with Secretary Meade, President Lane, and Trustee Hammoud. Congratulations to the students and all the best to the awardees on their future endeavors. Trustee Hammoud received the George T. Martin award in 2003 and she was able to recognize Kassem Elsaghir who was the award recipient. Kassem was also a member of the Advisory Council to the Superintendent.
21. Congratulations to Cathy Prowse, Marlene Fenech, Mary Baker and Laurie Feldcamp on their retirements. Thank you for all that you have done to support the best interest of Dearborn Public Schools.
22. Having some fun at the ADSA end of the year party. I was able to shut out the competition and win two straight. When it comes to hockey the competition is no match for me. BTW, I am not at all competitive (lol).
