School Visits and School Improvement Plan Team Visits Continue. We are seeing great things in the schools. It is wonderful to see parents, teachers and administrators involved. There is a high level of participation and sharing of ideas. We are looking at the possibility of piloting a few unannounced SIP visits for the 2nd semester in addition to the announced visits. We would only do this in two or three buildings and would then look to phase in the unannounced visits for the 16-17 school year.
1.School Visits- My visits since November 30th include the following: Whitmore Bolles(twice), Lindbergh, Fordson(3 times), STEM, ACE, Magnet, DCMST, Becker, Cotter, Nowlin, River Oaks, Haigh, McCollough-Unis, McDonald, Edsel-Ford, Lowrey, William Ford, Oakman, and Smith (2 times).
2. Here are some Pictures from the board of Education Meeting on December 14 as we got into the holiday spirit. Jim Walters and the Stout Middle School Band treated us to some holiday songs. 4. Salina Intermediate Holiday Party On December 9.
5. We had an outstanding dialogue on December 9 at Edsel Ford with the members of the Student Advisory Committee to the Superintendent. The discussion was very rich and honest regarding world events, school district programs, and other topics.
6. We helped to raise money for the Good fellow and Christmas Gifts for children on December 4. This was Team Darany-Dearborn Schools on the Corner of Cherry Hill and Outer Drive. President McDonald, Directors Mr. Seeterlin, Mr. Mustonen, and Executive Directors Ms. Alie-Bazzi, Dr. Mosallam, and Dr. Chochol assisted.
