Dr. Glenn Maleyko

It is a busy time of year. Here are some of the events that we have engaged in over the past 2 weeks.

The Arts Festival at the Performing Arts Center. My two children helped me to select the winner of the Superintendent Award which will be on display in my office for the next year. Congratulations to the Winner Arriyana and her teacher Ms. Daly from Edsel Ford.

Here are some of the pictures from the Art Festival along with a tour of Edsel Ford with Randi Weingarten from the AFT, Chris Sipperley, David Hecker, other union leaders,  and Representative Dingell.  Congratulations to Su Doman who is retiring this year. We worked together at DuVall. I want to thank her and all Dearborn Schools Retirees for the positive impact on students over the course of many years. I was fortunate to run into Ms. Prowse at the Festival.

The Dearborn Rotary Club provided students with over $50,000 in scholarship awards.

The Arts Festival Celebration on Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center. The Mayor and I spoke before the attendees. I also was able to get a cool selfie with some of the students who play the flute.

A meeting with the Dearborn PTA council leadership.  Students First: Inspire, Educate, Celebrate.  Reading Continues into April and beyond at Miller and Geer Park.

The District Rotary Assembly. I am on the Rotary Executive Board and Scheduled to become the Dearborn Rotary President in two years.

We had a wonderful brunch meeting with Osama Siblani, Representative Dingell, Ali Jawad, the Honorable Gene Hunt, and other community leaders.

Miller Elementary SIP visit and walkthrough visits at Salina Intermediate.

The Dearborn Exchange Club and a visit to Snow for a School Improvement Visit.

The Salina vs. Bryant volleyball game.

We had a wonderful outing at the Defeat the label bullying prevention day at Comerica Park. The Superintendent Student Advisory Council, Trustee Thorpe, and my family attended the game. The tigers held on for the victory even though they gave us their usual scare in the 9th inning. 🙂
